| This month, we celebrate Panzanella's 10th Anniversary. In February 2000, shortly after we had all miraculously made it through the transition to Y2K, Panzanella fired up the pizza ovens and opened the doors. | |||||||||||||||||
| In the western world back then, the cocktails were fussy and sweet, and the dot-com money (real and imaginary) was flowing. On the Billboard Top 100 Songs of 2000, the top 3 were: "Breathe" by Faith Hill, "Smooth", by Santana, and "Say My Name", by Destiny's Child. "Gladiator" took Best Picture at the Academy Awards for 2000. In US food trends, restaurants featuring Latin, Asian and Indian cuisine were all the rage, sushi was absolutely everywhere and exotic ingredients were expanding our vocabulary.>>> more | |||||||||||||||||

We want to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who joined in the fun, and for the support and friendship of this thoughtful, inspiring community. To celebrate these 10 great years as your neighborhood trattoria, during February we will be giving away 10 Door Prizes per week and offering special foods, special beverages, free balloons, and discounts. New Exhibit:'Ciao Roma' photographs by Geneva Sophia February 9 - April 11, 2010 Artist Reception: Monday, March 15, 2010, 5:30 - 7:30 pm 'Ciao Roma' is the beginning of a young woman's journey of survival. At 18 years old, Geneva Sophia was coming out of a class at 1:00 in the afternoon, when she was brutally attacked. The resulting head injuries left her with amnesia, short-term memory loss, and other disabilities. Her dreams, memories, and essential parts of her identity were lost in an instant. She now lived in a painful world without familiar touchstones. Her mother gave her a camera to help her remember what she had done each day, and with the hope that Geneva would begin to create new memories. The camera became Geneva Sophia's new destiny. In this exhibit, we see some of the very first photographs Geneva took with that camera. These beautiful images—compelling even without their story - document the vision and work of a survivor, at the point of beginning a new life. |
