Ciao from your local goodie!
March comes in like a lion and graciously brings oysters with it. Spring is coming, and Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, the 14th! We'll be so very relieved when this blustery, wet winter departs. Throughout the month of March, while we savor spring's tentative approach, we will feature beautiful, delectable oysters every day. Every Lunch, Dinner and Sunday Brunch this month we will have at least one special dish with oysters in it - just because we love them so much!

A Great 10 Years
Thanks to everyone for joining in our Anniversary Celebration during February, and making it so much fun. We are still serving the wonderful Carolina Brewery Anniversary Ale, as long as the supply lasts.

And, throughout the year, we'll have more fun being 10—so, for March we have a couple of dinner specials: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening in March we will feature a $10 Special Dinner Entree. Sunday evenings, all of our pizzas are $10 ($1.00 off the regular dinner pizza price).

Have you tried our special 10th Anniversary Dessert? Don't miss the extremely luscious Almond-Amaretto Crème Brûlée - a pleasure that makes you feel just fine about a little cheating on your diet. It will be available only through March.

Current Art Exhibit: 'Ciao Roma'
photography by Geneva Sophia
Now - April 11, 2010
Artist Reception: Monday, March 15, 2010, 5:30 - 7:30 pm

'Ciao Roma' is the beginning of a young woman's journey of survival. At 18 years old, Geneva Sophia was coming out of a class at 1:00 in the afternoon, when she was brutally attacked. The resulting head injuries left her with amnesia, short-term memory loss, and other disabilities. Her dreams, memories, and essential parts of her identity were lost in an instant. She now lived in a painful world without familiar touchstones. Her mother gave her a camera to help her remember what she had done each day, and with the hope that Geneva would begin to create new memories. The camera became Geneva Sophia's new destiny.

In this exhibit, we see some of the very first photographs Geneva took with that camera. These beautiful images—compelling even without their story—document the vision and work of a survivor, at the point of beginning a new life.

Please join us for the artist reception on Monday, March 15th, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.
Panzanella's artist receptions are friendly, casual gatherings of local artists and art lovers. Come enjoy this opportunity to meet the artist and get a closer look at the artwork. Light hors d'œvre will be served, and our full bar will be open. The reception is free and open to the public.

"Local Farms / Local Art: An Art Exhibit Celebrating the 15th Annual Piedmont Farm Tour.
This spring, Panzanella hosts a juried exhibit to explore what North Carolina artists create when the inspiration is local farming. Selected artists will be part of a 9-week exhibit of work based on NC farms. Farmers, farm families, crops, animals, landscapes, farm buildings and equipment are all possible subjects. This is our third year presenting the Local Farms/Local Art Exhibit.

It will be displayed in Panzanella from April 13th through June 14th, 2010. While the Piedmont Farm Tour involves only farms within the Piedmont, the artwork may represent farm subjects anywhere in North Carolina. Artists must currently reside in North Carolina. If you are interested in submitting artwork, please download a pdf of the 'Call For Artists' form here. Deadline for submissions is March 22.
